He holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), a Master’s degree in Parasitology from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais and a Doctorate in Parasitic Biology from the Fundação Oswaldo Cruz. He is currently a professor at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina and has experience in the field of Parasitology, with an emphasis on medical entomology and forensic entomology and environmental criminal expertise. He belongs to the Research Group: Biology and Vector Genetics.

Graduated in Biological Sciences (Bachelor and Licentiate) from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), Master’s degree in Plant Biology from UFSC and Doctorate in Cell and Developmental Biology from the same university. Since 2008 she has been working as a biologist at UFSC. She currently works at the Environmental Management Coordination at UFSC. She has experience in the area of Anatomy and Cellular Plant Biology, microscopy and histological techniques, environmental education, management of hazardous waste and in the Teaching of Science and Biology.

Biologist from the Institute of Biosciences – Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Master, Doctorate and Post-doctorate in Biology / Genetics from  Institute of Biosciences (USP), working with Prader-Willi and Angelman Syndrome. Post-Doctorate at the Institute of Psychiatry – Medical school (USP), working with genetics of psychiatric diseases. She is currently a professor at USP in the Department of Forensic Medicine and responsible for the Genetics and Molecular Biology laboratory.

Doctoral student and Master in the Biological Chemistry program at the Instituto de Bioquímica Médica Leopoldo de Meis at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. She is a pharmacist who graduated from the same institution. She is currently part of the Brazilian Reproducibility Initiative coordinating team and develops projects focused on assessing the consistency and reliability of scientific literature by evaluating basic research statistical synthesis strategies and assessing the quality of preprints and peer review in the biomedical sciences.

PhD at UCL, using various genome-wide and molecular biology approaches to study ageing cell populations. During the Post-Doctorate at Imperial College, he helped develop anti-malarial synthetic gene-drive systems in mosquitoes. Currently, he is working trying to understand the role of different neuroactive molecules on the mosquito auditory efferent system and the way this impacts swarming behaviour. This project allows him to study the fascinating sensory biology of an important disease vector, and potentially identify control tools along the way.

Doctorate student in the postgraduate program of Chemistry at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Degree in Chemistry (UFRGS) and Master in Chemistry (UFRGS). She has experience in the following topics: synthesis of organo-inorganic hybrid materials and mixed nanostructured oxides, characterization of chemical and microstructural materials and development of functionalized electrochemical platforms. She has interest in the areas of Electroanalytical and Materials Chemistry.

Agronomist and Master in Phytopathology by the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Doctorate degree in Phytopathology by the University of California. Professor at the Department of Phytopathology at UFV. He works in the field of phytopathology, with an emphasis on plant virology and genetics of pathogen-host interaction. The main lines of research are the analysis of the genetic diversity and molecular evolution of geminivirus and the study of geminivirus-host interaction. In addition, he provides diagnosis services for plant viruses through the Plant Disease Clinic at UFV.

Degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Fundação Oswaldo Cruz and Doctorate in Biotechnology and Biosciences from the UFSC, with sandwich Doctorate at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC / USA), in the field of microorganism proteomics. Currently he is a professor at UFSC and leader of the Bioinformatics Laboratory at the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology of the Center for Biological Sciences.

He works with risk management in projects, using data science combined with Storytelling. In addition, he creates processes and contributes to problem solving; being part of the Analysis Network COVID-19 group coordination, as a volunteer, working on social networks, helping the population, media and public managers to make more assertive decisions based on the data.

Degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa. Master’s degree in Biological Sciences (Genetics) from the Universidade Estadual de São Paulo (UNESP). She is currently developing her doctoral project at the Integrative Genomics Laboratory, studying the silencing of transposable elements via PIWI-interactig RNAs (piRNAs) in the presence of B chromosome in the African cichlid Astatotilapia latifasciata. She is the creator of the scientific dissemination profile Voando Alto Ciência.

Graduated in Biomedicine by the Centro Universitário Feevale (2005). Currently, she is a Product Specialist/Manager at Biolab Brasil Laboratory Materials.

He is currently pursuing his doctorate at the University of Minnesota, with a CAPES scholarship – Science Without Borders. He is co-creator of the science dissemination podcast Dragões de Garagem. He has experience in the field of Trichoptera taxonomy and biology and scientific communication.

She is a professor at the UFSC in the Graduate Program in Biology of Fungi, Algae, and Plants.

In addition, he has collaborated with the main magazines in the area in the country, such as Pesquisa Fapesp, Superinteressante, Scientific American Brasil, and Ciência Hoje.
