Committee President
Geison holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), master’s degree and Ph.D in Pharmacology of the Central Nervous System at the same University and post-doctorate in Psychobiology at the  Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. He was part of the board of the Brazilian Society of Genetics and currently is adjunct professor III and researcher at the UFSC. He is permanent member of the Cell & Developmental Biology Graduate Program and President of the Laboratório Multiusuário de Estudos em Biologia (LAMEB) at Biological Sciences Center/UFSC.

Carla has an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL, Argentina). She arrived in UFSC in 2015 to get her master’s degree in the Cell & Developmental Biology Graduate Program, where she is currently developing her Ph.D. Her research in the Laboratório de Reprodução e Desenvolvimento Animal (LRDA) is focused on the exposure of zebrafish, Danio rerio, to a glyphosate-based herbicide.

Kathleen has an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Currently, she is a Master’s student in the Cell & Developmental Biology Graduate Program under supervision of Teacher Andrea Rita Marrero, Ph.D at UFSC. She works at the Laboratory of Genetic Polymorphisms, on the research group on Molecular Evolution and Forensic Genetics, in the area of Sport Genetics and Barcode.

Aline has an undergraduate degree n Physiotherapy at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). She has a specialization in Acupuncture and Chinese Massage Therapy. She has a master’s degree in Neuroscience and a PhD in Cell & Developmental Biology Graduate at UFSC. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Cell & Developmental Biology Graduate Program and researches the embryotoxic, genotoxic and cytotoxic effects of pesticides used on a large scale in Brazil, at different stages in the life cycle of the zebrafish Danio rerio, focusing on the central nervous system.

PhD in Biological Sciences (Physiology) by the Instituto de Biofísica Carlos Chagas Filho in the Universidade Federal de Rio de Janeiro. She was a fellow of the CAPES sandwich doctoral program at the Institut de Génétique et de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire (IGBMC) in the city of Strasbourg, France. She worked as  teacher in a graduate course in the Brazilian Navy. She was a posdoctoral researcher at National Postdoctoral Program/CAPES fellow working with nutrition and maturation of marine shrimp. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Cell & Developmental Biology Graduate Program at the Federal University of Santa Catarina.

Giuliam has an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Universidade Regional do Noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (UNIJUÍ). Master’s degree in Cell & Developmental Biology at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, where she is developing her Ph.D. Her research at Laboratório de Reprodução e Desenvolvimento Animal (LRDA), under supervision of Professor Evelise Nazari, Ph.D., is focused on the the effect of UVB radiation on freshwater prawn.

João has an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Currently, he is a Master’s student in the Cell & Developmental Biology Graduate Program under supervision of Professor Cláudia Nedel Mendes de Aguiar, Ph.D at UFSC. He works at the Laboratório de Biologia Celular de Gliomas, with emphasis on treatment of cell culture with atorvastatin and fucoxanthin.

Julia has an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (UFES). She holds a Master’s Degree in Physiological Sciences at UFES. Currently, she is developing her PhD in Cell & Developmental Biology Graduate Program at Unviersidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). She research the influence of maternal care on behavior at the Laboratório de Genetica do Comportamento (LGC), under supervision of Professor Geison Souza Izídio, Ph.D.

Luan has an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Universidade Tecnologica Federal do Paraná (2018), currently a master’s student in Cell & Developmental Biology Graduate Program at UFSC. He has experience in Immunology and Genetic, with emphasis in Molecular Biology, evaluating the association between Genetic Polymorphisms with Autoimmune Diseases and its Clinical Manifestations, at Laboratório de Polimorfismos Genéticos (LAPOGE).

Tiago has an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), master’s degree in Cell & Developmental Biology at UFSC, where he is developing his Ph.D. Currently developing research with clinical interpretation of data of Chromosomal microarray (CMA), with bias the neurodevelopment disorders, such as intellectual disability and autism, in the Laboratório de Polimorfismos Genéticos at UFSC, under supervision of Professor Yara Costa Netto Muniz, Ph.D. and coordination of Professor Angelica Francesca Maris, Ph.D.
